Carrie Schaeffer and her team at Outer Graphics go above and beyond in meeting client’s needs. They are easy to work with, and
produce a client outcome that is outstanding. They took my ideas for a business storytelling workshop and created an outstanding
website. I’ve had them work on book covers and publishing issues. You never feel like a “number” at Outer Graphics.”

About Us

Building Value. Improving Lives.

Where did our name come from on? Outer Graphics. Outer is Latin for beyond. And it’s where we go everyday, for every client.

It’s a mindset that propels us beyond what you want — to consider what you NEED.

Beyond what it looks like —  to consider how it FEELS.

And beyond aesthetics — to consider how to make it LAST.

Outer Graphics is a small design studio located in East Lansing across
from the MSU campus since 1999. We have over 20 years of experience
in graphic design and marketing expertise.

In 1998, Carrie Schaeffer founded Outer Graphics; incorporating all aspects of her experience ranging from trade show design to logo & corporate identity.

Carrie’s favorite aspect of business is the collaboration with each client and the creation of a final product that the client is pleased with. Each day represents a growing portfolio and an abundance of knowledge that is applied for years to come.

The strongest influence in Carrie’s life were her grandparents. Her grandfather owned two successful businesses and stressed the importance of a strong work ethic. Her grandmother was a well known artist in the Upper Peninsula specializing in a variety of mediums. The most poignant detail her grandmother taught was that art is everywhere and she encouraged a career in the arts that Carrie fulfilled.

In 2001, Carrie received the Woman-Owned Business Contractor of the Year Award from the United States Department of Agriculture for outstanding support and service.

Since then, Carrie and her team have continued to network in groups such as Lansing Craftsman Club and Local BNI chapters. In addition, Carrie continues to donate a lot of her time to local non-profit organizations and runs a mentorship program with local graphic design students.
